Cricket Australia asked to let Indian cricketers bring in families too

India’s upcoming cricket tour of Australia at the end of the year will be one of the most highly anticipated cricket tours in a long time.  With the two of the best teams in international cricket will be locking horns again, the entire cricket fraternity including fans, Boards, and broadcasters everyone is looking forward to the tour.

While everyone is gripping for the series, The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Cricket Australia (CA) seems to still have some unsorted decisions to finalize including the decision whether to allow families to travel with the players or not.

BCCI is planning to call the players who are not in IPL but are part of the Australia series to UAE to prepare them ahead of the big series.

According to the schedule, the Indian team will leave for Sydney after the IPL final in UAE on November 10 and will quarantine in Sydney itself as their first Test match is expected to place in Sydney only on November 27 while the last one will take place on January 15 in Brisbane.

Both the boards- BCCI and CA have agreed on the schedule however, their views don’t seem to be on the same lines as far as the prospect of family being allowed to travel is concerned.

According to a report from BCCI insider, “CA has advised families of players to be barred from traveling, considering the sensitivity and sanctity of the bio-bubble. But given the prolonged duration of the bubble the players will remain in, it would be in their interest if the families can be with them in Australia, at least for some time. Hopefully, the issue will be sorted out soon.”
