All India Congress Committee (AICC) leader from Mumbai Vishwabandhu Rai has written a letter to Congress President Sonia Gandhi alleging that 12 ministers of Congress, who are part of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in Maharashtra, are not working in “true interest of the party.
Stating that the ministers have “vested interests”, no major steps have been taken by them to fulfil the promises made in the manifestos”.
He alleged that even when the power ministry is with the Congress in Maharashtra, the party ministers are taking no concrete steps to waive the electricity bills in the state as promised in the manifesto.
Additionally, he posed serious allegations against Mumbai Congress President, Bhai Jagtap, stating that he is planning to make partnership with the Shiv Sena for the upcoming Mumbai Municipal Corporation elections
He also trained his guns towards Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray stating that Thackeray is just taking the credit for the work that was promised by the Congress party.
“Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi had promised to give houses of up to 500 square feet to Mumbaikars in 2019 under the SRA scheme. Congress ministers did not take any initiative to fulfil this promise. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray takes all the credit for waiving off tax on houses up to 500 square feet in Mumbai. The manifesto of the Congress party is being completely ignored,” he wrote in his letter.
In another allegation, he stated that the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), which is also a part of the MVA coalition government, has “poached” 18 Congress councilors and made them a part of the NCP while some others are joining the Shiv Sena.
