1400 workers of Congress’ NSUI resign: Allege corruption

In a massive setback, as many as 1,400 workers resigned from Congress student wing National Student Union of India (NSUI) in Jammu. Those who resigned also include NSUI general secretary, vice-president, district media coordinator, and other officials.

The workers not only just resigned but also made some serious allegations against the party. The resigned workers have accused the party of cheating them in name of democracy. They alleged that the party asked them to pay Rs 100 for the polls but no elections were conducted. The workers feel that instead of an election, there was merely a selection process in the Party.

The leaders were also not happy about the increasing corruption activities in the union and they have also written a letter mentioning the same to party chief Sonia Gandhi. NSUI workers say they were charged fees and elections were not held even after 2.5 years. In a letter to Sonia Gandhi, it was said that even after complaining to top officials about this, there was no solution.
