7-year-old climbs Africa’s tallest mountain, Mt. Kilimanjaro





A seven-year-old Hyderabad boy has scaled the world’s largest free-standing mountain and Africa’s tallest one, Kilimanjaro. Virat Chandra achieved the feat on March 6 after a month’s rigorous training with his coach Bharat Thammineni. 

Mount Kilimanjaro is 5,686 meters above sea level and is situated in Tanzania. 

Last month, a nine-year-old girl Kadapala Rithvika Sri, from Andhra Pradesh, had become Asia’s youngest girl to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.
