Yogi govt to name a road in Ayodhya in honour of Kothari brothers

The name of Kothari brothers might not ring a bell in your mind but the Yogi Adityanath government is determined they stay in relevance and not forgotten by indifference or manipulated narrative.

The Yogi Government of Uttar Pradesh has announced it would construct a road in the name of Kothari Brothers in Ayodhya.

Ram Kumar Kothari (23) and Sharad Kumar Kothari (20) had gone from Kolkata to Ayodhya to perform the Kar Seva when they were gunned down by the police in October 1990. Mulayam Singh Yadav’s government held the rein of Uttar Pradesh at that time.

They were shot at point-blank by the police.

Their sister, Purnima Kothari, was one of the invitees for the Bhoomi Poojan of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on August 5 last year.

The decks for the Ram Temple were cleared when Supreme Court gave a judgment in its favour against those protesting the demolition of non-functional Babri Masjid.

The temple is coming along nicely and the Uttar Pradesh government, meanwhile, has launched many projects in Ayodhya, including an International Airport and a religious tourist destination, amongst many.
