Narada case: 2 of 4 complain of breathlessness; hospitalised

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had arrested ministers Firhad Hakim and Subrata Mukherjee, TMC MLA Madan Mitra, and former Kolkata Mayor Sovan Chattopadhyay in the Narada bribery case on Monday.

While Firhad Hakim and Subrata Mukherjee spent their night in Kolkata’s Presidency Correctional Home after the Calcutta High Court stayed their bail, Mitra and Chatterjee, had to be hospitalized after they complained of illness and breathlessness.

They were shifted to hospital around 4 am early morning along with Subrata Mukherjee but he was sent back to the jail after his medical examination.

A jail official further informed that Mukherjee and Hakim will also be sent for a medical check-up today.  “I am not keeping well. I may have to go for a check-up on Tuesday,” Mukherjee told reporters.
