March 15 is a special day for the Deol family as it marks the birthday of actor Abhay Deol. Having established his name as a force to reckon with, Abhay enjoys a massive fan-following, not just because of his talent, but also because of his unabashed takes on everything under the sun. The actor doesn’t mince words when asked for his opinions, and the same happened when he was asked to react to one of veteran actor Anil Kapoor’s remarks against him.
It so happened that on Koffee With Karan, when Anil had graced the chat show with his daughter Sonam Kapoor, the veteran actor said a little something about Abhay. “Abhay Deol needs help,” he had said, adding, “In every way! There’s something terribly wrong with the guy.”
Later, when Abhay was asked his comment on Anil’s remark on KWK, the actor had made a reference to Aisha, his film with Sonam, and said: “He’s right about me doing “all the wrong things”. Aisha is the biggest proof of that. And yes I do “need help”. Help not getting affected by people like him. He’s a waste of my time.”
For those unaware, the 2010 release starred Abhay and Sonam in lead roles. The film was co-produced by Anil Kapoor’s production house. Back then, Abhay wasn’t a part of the film’s promotional activities as he was busy with the shoot of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, co-starring Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Kalki Koechlin and Katrina Kaif.
The actor, however, had expressed his displeasure about the film in an interview wherein he had said that it was more about clothes than the actual acting.
