ABP dropped me on ‘toolkit’ show due to Congress pressure: Shehzad

Former Congress leader Shehzad Poonawalla raised the storm on Twitter when he accused that the media channel ABP News dropped him from a debate panel after getting pressure from the Congress party.

Poonawalla yesterday shared the audio clip of his conversation with the representative from ABP News where the media coordinator informed the former that the Congress party had asked them to drop him otherwise they would boycott the debate which was apparently about the “Congress Toolkit”.

Shehzad, on Twitter, wrote, “Real face of Congress intolerance & curbing Free Speech & bullying media Today 2 pm I was requested by @ABPNews to join their debate at 5 pm on Toolkit issue – I agreed to join At 4:15 pm ABP Guest team said ABP had to drop me in Congress pressure.”

He further said that he feared that he would lose further contracts or assignments.

“I am an anchor presenter & analyst by profession & I fear Congress will hound me even more”

Additionally, Shehzad, who has been critical of the party and raised voice against the elevation of Rahul Gandhi as president, alleged that it wasn’t the first time when he was removed from a panel after the pressure from Congress.
