After BJP workers, it’s BSF jawans who are now facing violence in Bengal

After BJP workers, it’s the BSF jawans who are facing the horrible violence which has erupted in West Bengal after 2021 assembly polls.

That the houses of BJP jawans have been attacked, plundered and ransacked, allegedly by the Trinamool Congress goons, has been posted in a twitter thread by Brajesh Kumar Singh, managing editor of the Network 18 group.

BSF jawan Kamal Sen’s house was attacked in Raniparhat village in Jalpaiguri district. The jawan and his family were assaulted and his house, tractor and bike was set on fire. The injured jawan is presently hospitalised in Siliguri.

The second incident happened in Cooch Behar where the house of a BSF jawan, Sushant Burman, was allegedly attacked and looted simply because his brother was a BJP supporter. His family members had to flee home to save their lives.

In the thread, Brajesh Singh has questioned: If the security forces are under attack, how can the public of the state be or feel safe?

As per Brijesh Singh, the BSF officials have approached the local administration and police.

It might be remembered that Trinamool Congress chief and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee has earlier given a veiled threat to central paramilitary forces. She even wanted them “gheraoed” during elections.
