YouTuber Maridhas was arrested by cybercrime police in Madurai following his tweet over for questioning how DMK supporters mocked the death of General Bipin Rawat
In the tweet, which he later deleted, Maridhas asked if Tamil Nadu was “turning into a Kashmir” under the DMK rule.
Insinuating foul play in the IAF chopper crash which resulted in the death of CDS Rawat, Maridas said that there was a risk of a conspiracy forming when those who were disloyal to the country come together. He also remarked that the separatist forces had to be stopped.
He had also posted a separate tweet claiming that DMK and DK supporters had made fun of Rawat’s passing and alleged that DMK was the first choice of separatist forces.
While there had many instances where many Islamists liberals have been seen posting celebratory tweets on the death of the CDS Rawat, Maridhas has been arrested for questioning DMK supporters.
According to a report, the Madurai police went to his house in Surya Nagar of K Pudur and arrested him, and booked him under sections 153 (wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause riot) and 505(2) (making statements with intent to cause public mischief, or which is likely to cause, fear or alarm to the public) of the Indian Penal Code.
