‘Coward’ Kejri would ‘sell his soul’ if it serves his purpose, says Amarinder

Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has called his Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal a coward willing to sell “his soul if it helped him”. Singh said Kejriwal has already notified one of the Central farm laws because Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had to go “grovelling” for help to the Centre to handle Covid-19 crisis in the capital.

Every Punjabi knows that “you will sell your soul if it serves your purpose”, the Punjab CM said. Kejriwal has already sold off “farmers’ interests” by notifying one of the black laws, he added. “Why did you do that?” Singh asked.

Kejriwal hit back accusing Amarinder that the farm laws were his Punjab counterpart’s “gift to the nation”.

“U were part of the committee which drafted these Bills. These Bills are ‘your gift to the nation’. Captain sahib, why do BJP leaders never accuse you of double standards the way they accuse all other leaders?” Kejriwal tweeted.

Singh, who had earlier called Kejriwal liar and a slimy fellow, referred to a 2018 incident in which the Delhi CM had apologised to Shiromani Akali Dal’s Bikram Majithia. Kejriwal had at one time said that Majithia was a “drud lord” but later apologised to him. This was done by Kejriwal as he was “cringing in fear in the face of a minor defamation case”, Singh said.

A coward (Kejriwal) would not be able to save himself from the “wrath of the farmers” and get any votes (in Punjab) for his party in the next assembly elections, Singh said.

This use of accusations being hurled back and forth between the Punjab and Delhi CMs is rooted in AAP’s plans to challenge Singh in the state.

Last week, Kejriwal had visited Singhu border to meet protesting farmers from Punjab saying he had come to them as a “sevadar”. He had also joined them on a token hunger strike.
