‘Ram Mandir could withstand earthquakes; stand for a 1000 years’

The Ram Mandir in the making could withstand earthquake and natural calamities for a thousand years, says Champat Rai, general secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, the trust at the forefront of the battle for Ram Janmabhoomi.

The foundation of Ram Temple’s pillars will be deep as the bridges built on rivers. It could be 200 feet deep, said Rai.

The plan for the foundation of the temple to be earthquake resistant will be ready soon and shared by Larsen & Toubro. “We will get the plan passed by the Ayodhya Development Authority after paying the due fees. We don’t want any exemption, said Rai.

“The scriptures found during the digging and levelling of the land will be put on display at the temple.

“The trust has so far around Rs 42 crores in its bank account and people are donating from Rs 1 to 1 crore.”
