Bhawnipore polls: Complaint against Mamata for not declaring her pending criminal cases

An objection has been filed with the returning officer for Bhawnipore against Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee for not declaring the pending criminal cases against her in nomination papers for the seat she is contesting to gain an entry into the legislative assembly. 

The polls for Bhawnipore is slated for September 30. 

The objection has been filed by the chief election agent (Sajal Ghosh) of BJP candidate in the fray, Mrs Priyanka Tibrewal, and a list of five pending cases are duly mentioned for which the news links has also been provided in the complaint letter. 

The cases relate to her comments on NRC in which she was accused of pitting Bengali populace agains the Assamese which was deemed as threat to communal harmony to the people in Assam. 

She was accused of disturbing the communal harmony by her statement that NRC is against the Bengalis, Hindus and Muslims when the process was deemed to identify Indians as against non-Indians.
