Rahul Gandhi, former president of Congress had posted a video of some Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troops on Twitter which alleged that they were performing operational duties without any bullet-proof vehicle.

On Saturday, the CRPF said it is investigating the authenticity of the video.

In a statement, Moses Dhinakaran, Deputy Inspector General, and spokesperson of the force said, "CRPF has adequate protective vehicles to meet varied operational requirements."

He added, "The authenticity of the video is being probed into by CRPF."

CRPF is the country's leading internal security force with the strength of around 3.25 lakh personnel and it is deployed in various states for carrying anti-Naxal operations.

On Saturday morning, the central government was attacked by Rahul Gandhi for the provision of vehicles for soldiers without any bulletproof safety whereas Prime minister Narendra Modi's aircraft facility gets procured for Rs 8,400 crore.

With a video in which the soldiers can be heard discussing being transported to a certain place in a vehicle that is not bulletproof, Rahul Gandhi asked on Twitter, "Is this justice?"

In one of his tweets, Gandhi wrote on Twitter in Hindi that Our soldiers perform their operational duties in non-bullet proof vehicles whereas PM Modi's aircraft id procured for Rs. 8,400 crores. "Is this justice?"

As per the report of the Republic network, the process of procuring these VVIP aircraft began around a decade ago under the UPA Government.

About Rahul Gandhi, the sources said, perhaps like most other initiatives of the UPA government, "Rahul Gandhi wants to disown this procurement too?" They added, Rahul Gandhi is entitled to his disregard for the UPA government, but not entitled to his own facts.

The two aircraft are not the Prime Minister's aircraft as Gandhi dubbed them but they will be used for other VVIPs. These aircraft belong to the Indian Air Force and not the Prime Minister, said sources.

They added that the Modi government has only brought that process to its logical conclusion.
