From Anil to Akshay, tributes pour in for Balasubrahmanyam
The legendary singer, SP Balasubrahmanyam took his last breath in Chennai on Friday. The veteran singer was 74. On August, 5 SPB was admitted to the hospital and in the test results, he was found COVID-19 positive.
Singing legend S P Balasubrahmanyam's funeral was held at his Red Hills farmhouse in Thiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu, some 50 km from Chennai, with complete police honours today. The singer, whose voice enchanted music lovers over the last fifty years, was honoured with a 72-gun salute by the Tamil Nadu police
At the time of admission, he was very critical but his condition had started to improve. A lot of Bollywood stars including Anil Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, and singer Lata Mangeshkar paid their respects to the great singer.
SP Charan, son of SPB, informed the media about the demise of his father from the hospital's gate at 1:04 pm and expressed gratitude to all those who prayed for his father's recovery.
Veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar expresses her condolences on Twitter and said that she is shattered to hear the news. She further wrote that they have shared their journey together and have sung many songs. While concluding the post, she wrote that she still remembers all the good moments and conversations that they shared together. And offered her prayers to SPB.
Bollywood actor, Akshay Kumar paid his respects to the late singer on Twitter while sharing a screenshot of a video call with Balasubrahmanyam ji.
Akshay Kumar wrote that "life is truly unpredictable and people should spend it by staying with family in these tough situations."
Anil Kapoor also paid tribute to the singer on Twitter by sharing a picture from the singer's concert and called him an "incredible singer" and a “Great human being.”
SPB was tested positive for COVID-19 when he was admitted to the hospital but his condition became critical on August 13 and he moved to the Intensive Care Unit. His family, celebrities, and people from all walks of life prayed together for the recovery of the veteran singer.
