Imran Khan took drugs many a times, claims mentor Sarfraz Nawaz

Former Pakistani cricketer Sarfraz Nawaz has claimed that the present prime minister and his former teammate Imran Khan consumed drugs including cannabis and cocaine on several occasions.

Nawaz and Imran Khan were part of the Pakistan cricket team during the 1970s and early 80s.

Further, during the revelation, he said that Imran himself will not be able to deny his accusations as many people have seen him consuming drugs.

Citing one incident, Nawaz said, once during a match between England and Pakistan, when Imran didn’t perform well, he came to his house and had charas after the meal. He added several other former players including Mohsin Khan, Abdul Qadir, and Salim Khan were also present at that time.

Imran Khan and Sarfraz Nawaz have represented Pakistan and led their pace attack for several years. Nawaz was widely credited for being the first one to reverse swing the ball. It is also believed that he taught Imran khan the art of reverse swing.

Nawaz played 55 Tests and 45 one-day internationals, bagging 177 wickets in all. He retired in 1985 and became a parliamentarian. Imran Khan claimed 362 Test wickets and made 3,807 runs in his career. He is also the first and only Pakistan captain to have won the World Cup, in 1992.
