Trump nominated for Nobel Peace Prize for UAE-Israel deal

The United States President, Donald Trump has been nominated for Nobel Peace Prize 2021 for his role in brokering a deal between the United Arab Emirates and Israel.

Trump was nominated by Norwegian lawmaker Christian Tybring-Gjedde. He has also nominated Trump in 2019 for this award for his diplomatic efforts towards North Korea.

The Norwegian leader in his nomination letter to the Nobel Committee wrote,

“It is for his contribution to peace between Israel and the UAE. It is a unique deal”

He clarified that he is not a Trump supporter but the US president must be acknowledged for his “merit”.

Donald Trump said he deserved to be awarded the honor for his work on North Korea and Syria but also complained that he would never get the prize.

Trump’s Nobel Prize nomination comes just weeks before crucial US presidential elections which are scheduled for November 3.
