BJP allege tonnes of ration for poor decaying in a school under Kejri govt: Video

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Delhi-State general secretary Siddhartan shared a video alleging that Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, instead of utilizing, allowed the tonnes of ration to decay at a primary school in Vasant Kunj.

In the video, hundreds of sacks of ration with the photo of the CM Arvind Kejriwal imprinted on them can be seen lying on the ground. The ration cannot be used for consumption now as it has been left there unused for a long time.

Targeting Kejriwal, Siddhartan said he should be ashamed of himself for stockpiling the free rations given to the state by the central government under the Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana in other schools and godowns for needy ones.

The BJP leader further alleged that this ration was meant to be distributed to the daily wage labourers, migrant workers, slum dwellers but Kejriwal choose to hoard it.

Another BJP leader Ruby Yadav also alleged the same allegations on Delhi CM and even filed a complaint against him at Vasant Kunj police station, demanding a detailed investigation.

In April, The Kejriwal-led Delhi government planned to deliver ration to poor beneficiaries at their homes. However, the AAP party announced two weeks later after the Central Government had already promised free ration for two months till June.

It is also worthy to note that the Kejriwal government was planning to send the same the subsidized ration given by the central government under their name.  However, later the Center clarified with the Delhi government that they can not implement the doorstep ration delivery scheme using the subsidized foodgrain allotted under the National Food Security Act (NFSA).
