The Congress party Thursday announced its first list of 125 candidates for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections
Actress and Miss Bikini India 2018 Archana Gautam, who joined the Congress Party twice in November 2021 has also been given ticket and will be contesting from Meerut’s Hastinapur seat.
Archana is a known face in Hindi and Tamil films. She had done her graduation in journalism and mass communication from the IIMT, Meerut.
It is important to note that while the model joined the Congress party in November 2021 only, within just two months, she has been given a ticket to contest assembly polls.
As an interesting case, Archana’s induction ceremony in Congress was done twice after she allegedly got upset as there was no special mention of her. She had said that while Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel and party general secretary Pramod Tiwari was present at the stage, only the formality of joining was done. Her father had also complained that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was supposed to induct her into the party, but it was not done.
After this, CM Baghel conducted a separate event in the hotel where he was staying, and inducted her into the party.
