Cow dung dumped in front of BJP leader’s house in Punjab

Unidentified people dumped cow dung outside the house of a Punjab BJP leader Tikshan Sud in Hoshiarpur on Friday. The group also shouted slogans against the Centre for its alleged callousness towards the demands of farmers to withdraw three farm laws passed in September 2020.

After the incident, several leaders of the Punjab BJP gathered at Rai Bahadur Jodhamal Road in Hoshiarpur and demanded strict action against those who had dumped the cow dung. Taking a serious note of the incident, Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh said that the invasion of privacy will bring a bad name to the agitation by farmers.

Captain Singh said that after showing exemplary restraint so far, and not indulging in any violence or lawlessness, some protestors appear to be losing restraint. He added that the leaders of the protestors have been categorically asked to keep all protests peaceful.

Farmers had started gathering at Delhi borders in the last week of November 2020. Despite several rounds of negotiations, the farmers and the government have failed to break the deadlock. The next round of negotiations is scheduled for January 4.
