CRPF lays into politicians who question surgical strikes: Pulwama anniversary

Kamal Sisodiya, a personnel of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) today tore into politicians who “question” the surgical strikes, like the one India conducted after the Pulwama attack in which 40 CRPF personnel died and which celebrates its third anniversary today.

India observes the day as the Black Day of martyrdom but the politicians, like Telangana’s chief minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao on Sunday, never fail to ask for “proof” of the surgical strikes.

“This hurts when someone politicises this. Please don’t insult the martyrdom of our brave hearts…wrong to ask the proof of martyrdom. They have lost their lives…” said Sisodiya on Republic TV.

Rao had said on Sunday that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was not wrong in demanding proof of surgical strikes.

“There is nothing wrong in Rahul Gandhi asking for proof of surgical strikes. What was wrong. Even I am asking. Let the governmnet of India show as there are apprehensions amongst the people,” the Telangana CM said while addressing media.

Rao’s comments came after Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma attacked Rahul Gandhi for demanding proof of the surgical strike.

Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs V Muraleedharan lambasted the Telangana CM for raising doubts over armed forces in regards to surgical strikes.

“Such a disgrace!

Telangana CM KCR raises doubts over armed forces in Surgical Strikes.

It’s an insult to our brave soldiers who took part in the operation,” Muraleedharan tweeted.

It may be recalled that in February 2016, Pakistan-sponsored terrorists had attacked a CPRP convoy in south Kashmir, resulting in the death of 40 personnel. Taking revenge for the dastardly attack, the Modi government gave the green signal to the Indian Air Force (IAF) to carry out an airstrike in Pakistan’s Balakot on February 26, 2019, targeting terrorists camps.

Earlier in 2016, the Indian Army conducted surgical strikes across the Line of Control (LoC) in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) and destroyed terror launchpads. The strike was conducted to revenge the terror attack in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir that claimed the lives of 18 Indian soldiers.

Following the surgical strikes, Congress and AAP had demanded proof of surgical strikes operation.
