Did India Today group violate FEMA laws? Investigations on

Did India Today group received foreign funding which didn’t meet the approval of India’s laws? An investigation over alleged FEMA (Foreign Exchange Management Act) is presently underway in an investment deal, reports Asianet.

The investigation has been on for a year now.

Several top management persons have been questioned by the Enforcement Directorate in recent past. The deal apparently is what India Today group had struck for their Mail Today venture.

The first summons were sent in August 2020.

As per the news report, the officials are scanning accounts which have received the investment.

If there is FEMA violation, the India Today group could face action.

It is already under probe over money laundering allegations in a last year’s TRP case
