India’s cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar was presented with honorary doctorate by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat at Sri Sathya University in Bengaluru on Wednesday.
The honour was awarded at the First Convocation of Sri Sathya Sai University of Human Excellence at Muddenahalli, Karnataka.
It has got the Left-Liberals of this country agitated who frankly are too low an entity to throw barbs at a man who has captivated millions over generations with his skill and grace, on and off the cricket field.
Sample the images of two tweets below where one is lamenting: “I thought it was difficult to bowl out this man, but alas.” While another lamented that nowadays Indian celebrities when asked to bend are crawling.” Their English of course is as bad as the sentiments.
The stupidity doesn’t end here. One twitterati compared Gavaskar with Sri Lankan cricketers like Jayasuriya and Sangakara who are standing with the people against the establishment. These men of course won’t explain how they are still at large if India has a fascist regime today.
This of course is not the first time the Indian hero has been “cancelled” by these hypocrites.
In 2020, when anti-CAA protests were gathering steam, Gavaskar had asked the youth to focus on building a new India and exhorted them not to waste their valuable years for the sake of activism.
Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence was established at Navanihala Village, Kamalapur Taluk, Kalaburagi district in Karnataka.
