Gehlot’s vendetta against Union Minister: BJP reveals papers in public domain

Bharatiya Janata Party has put in public domain a few official documents to allege that the recent actions against Union minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat to implicate him in a scam in Rajasthan is a political vendetta, moved by an officer who is close to state’s chief minister Ashok Gehlot’s family.

A session court in Jaipur has recently directed the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Rajasthan police to probe Shekhawat’s role as an accused in the Sanjivani Credit Cooperative Society scheme where investors allegedly had lost Rs 900 crores collectively.

The complainants allege that the money was transferred to the companies owned by Mr Shekhawat, his wife and others. Meanwhile, the SOG has already sent a notice to Shekhawat.

The credit society, which began operations in 2008, was offering high interest rates on deposit. Initially, the SOG’s charge-sheet filed in the court did not mention Shekhawat as an accused.

The First Information Report (FIR) in the case was registered on August 23, 2019.

An application was later filed in the magistrate’s court to include the name of the union minister in the charge-sheet but it was rejected. The application that moved a revision petition in the court of additional district and sessions judge.

Meanwhile, BJP has alleged through documents that SOG has been over-active in targeting political rivals. It mentions a similar notice to Sachin Pilot who has recently rebelled against the chief minister Ashok Gehlot.

As per BJP, an IPS officer Anil Paliwal was then the ADG in-charge of the SOG.

“It’s the same Paliwal who had filed a FIR against Sanjeevani Co-operative Society to implicate Union minister Gajendra Shekhawat.

“It is no coincidence that Paliwal is overzealous in his actions against Gehlot’s opponents, has multiple business partnerships with him and his associates.

“Anil Paliwal’s wife Sarika Paliwal is a promoter along with Ratankant Sharma and other sin Triton Hotels and Resorts which owns Fairmont Hotel (where presently MLAs loyal to Gehlot are lodged) in Jaipur.

“Ratnakant Sharma is know to be business partner of Gehlot’s son, Vaibhav.

“Paliwal’s wife is also a partner in Golden Peace Resorts and Mayank Sharma Enterprises.

“Gehlot’s family has weaved such a web of businesses that the shareholders of Mayank Sharma Enterprises are also the shareholders of triton Hotels and Resorts.

“Interestingly, speaking about how concocted their filings are, the address of Sarika Paliwal, Ratankant Sharma and other promoters of Triton Hotel and Resorts is exactly the same: 103 Shantivan, 2A, Raheja Township, Malad (E), Mumbai.”

Shekhawat is also a member of parliament representing Jodhpur in the Lok Sabha.
