Trust Harbhajan Singh, India’s legendary spinner, to come out with a one-liner which bamboozles everyone.
As Australia gears up to take the Indian challenge in the four-Test series beginning in Nagpur on February 9, “Bhajji” as he is popularly known, made an epic reply to Wasim Jaffer’s comment that Australians are having sleepless nights on spinner Ravi Ashwin.
“First Test is five days away and @ashwinravi99 is already inside Aus head,” Jaffer reposted the video.
Harbhajan, however, shared a picture of a pitch, on twitter with a caption: “This the main thing they have in their head”.
Harbhajan was termed as “turbanator” after he single-handedly destroyed Australia in a three-Test home series in 2001, taking 32 wickets including an epic hat-trick in front of a packed Eden Gardens in Kolkata which nullified the visitors advantage of winning the preceding Mumbai Test.
India went on to win the series 2-1.
In 18 Tests against Australia, Harbhajan took 95 Test wickets at 29.96 average with a staggering economy rate of 2.94. On seven occasions, he took five wickets in an innings. Three times he distinguished himself with 10-wicket haul against the Australians.
Overall, Harbhajan took 417 wickets from 103 Tests with 25 five-wicket haul and five 10-wicket haul in Tests.
Former Australia wicketkeeper-batter Ian Healy had claimed that if India makes fair pitches, Australia will win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
However, India have won each of the last three Test series against Australia, with two of them coming Down Under.
