Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new Parliament building on May 28. Actress-politician Hema Malini visited the new building and shared inside photos. She used the hashtag ‘MyParliament My Pride’ on her post.
Sharing the same, she wrote, “Day 1 – at the inaugural of the beautiful new Parliament building which will showcase India’s strides into a brave new world and give us pride of place among all the advanced nations. Jai Hind @narendramodi @piyushgoyalofficial @hardeepspuri @arjunrammeghwalofficial #MyParliamentMyPride (sic).”
On May 26, PM Modi shared a video offering a glimpse of the new Parliament building. The video didn’t have any commentary or background score. “I have a special request – share this video with your own voice-over, which conveys your thoughts. I will re-Tweet some of them,” PM Modi said.
Speaking over a score from his movie Swades, Shah Rukh Khan said, “The new Parliament building. The new house of our hopes. A home for the people who uphold our Constitution where 140 crore Indians become one family. May this new home be so big that it has a place for everyone from every village, city and every corner of the country. May the arms of the new home embrace people from all castes, creeds and religions.”
He captioned the video, “What a magnificent new home for the people who uphold our Constitution, represent every citizen of this great Nation and protect the diversity of her one People @narendramodi ji. A new Parliament building for a New India but with the age old dream of Glory for India. Jai Hind! #MyParliamentMyPride (sic).”
To this, PM Modi replied, “Beautifully expressed! The new Parliament building is a symbol of democratic strength and progress. It blends tradition with modernity. #MyParliamentMyPride (sic).”
PM Modi also retweeted the video that was shared by Akshay Kumar with his voice-over.
Akshay Kumar called the new Parliament building “an iconic symbol of India’s growth story”. PM Modi agreed with the Bollywood actor and said the building reflects the nation’s rich heritage.
