Hindu man donates crores to temple as kids have turned to Christianity

A 85-aged old man, Velayatham, from Tamil Nadu’s Kanchipuram has decided to donate his property worth Rs. 2 crore to Kumarakottam Murugan Temple after being fed up with children who have converted to Christianity, as per a report.

Talking to local daily Velayudham said, “As a follower of Hindu Dharma I wanted my children to perform my final rites. Both of my daughters have married Christian men and are in government jobs. My son works in a private firm and he also married a Christian woman. All three of them have converted to Christianity. So they are not going to perform my final rites as per Hindu traditions”.

According to the report, Velayudham owns a house in a 2,680 sq.ft property which is worth around Rs 2 crore now. He said that for him being Hindu is and following Hindu traditions is important. While his children live in a portion of a house but the moment after he and his wife die, the temple administration would take over the house as he has handed over the sale deed to the department of Hindu religious and charitable endowments that governs the temple.
