Indian cricket team has a jam-packed schedule in 2021

India has a jam-packed cricket schedule in 2021 in which, if all goes well, India plays 16 ODIs, 23 T20s and 14 Tests from January to December 2021.

It doesn’t include the matches in Asia Cup or T20 World Cup.

This is also the year when India would be doing the challenging tour of England.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to release the official schedule but this is the maths worked out by InsideSport.

A look at the schedule for 2021:

India vs Australia – January

India would finished the ongoing tour of Australia with the fourth and final Test in Brisbane, beginning January 15

England tour of India – February to March

India return home to host England in a full series consisting of four Tests, 3 ODIs and 5 T20s.

IPL 2021 – April to May

The next edition of the Indian Premier League will be played between April and May. If the Covid-19 situation isn’t improved, UAE could still be the venue as it was in 2020.

India tour of Sri Lanka and Asia Cup (June-July)

India will tour Sri Lanka post the conclusion of the Indian Premier League for a three-match ODI series and five T20Is. India will extend their stay in Sri Lanka to take part in the Asia Cup where they will be defending their title and meeting arch-rivals Pakistan after a long gap of two years.

India’s tour of Zimbabwe (July)

After the Sri Lanka tour, India are scheduled to tour Zimbabwe for a limited-overs series. The tour was scheduled to happen in 2020 but was postponed due to Covid-19. It could be a great opportunity for young talents of Indian cricket.

India’s tour of England (August to September)

After hosting England at home, India will travel to the country for a five-match Test series in August.

South Africa tour of India (October)

India will then host South Africa in the month of October ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021.

ICC T20 World Cup 2021

India will stage the T20 World Cup 2021 and will start as one of the favourites in the showpiece event.

New Zealand tour of India (November-December)

Team India will then host New Zealand for two Tests and three T20Is in November-December.

India tour of South Africa (December)

Team India will end the year with a tour of South Africa in December where they will play three Tests and as many T20Is.
