India’s Under-19 World Cup winners to get Rs 40 lakhs each

India Under-19 team which won the World Cup in West Indies on Sunday, would receive a cash prize of Rs 40 lakhs each, it was announced by the cricket board secretary Jay Shah. 

While posting the congratulatory message, Jay Shah announced the crash prize for each player and member of the support staff. 

BCCI president Sourav Ganguly too lauded India’s Under-19 team for winning the World Cup. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also congratulated the Indian Under-19 team.

England batted first in the final but were blown out by the pace of Raj Bawa who picked up five wickets. Ravi Kumar had a four wicket haul. England were all out for 189. 

India chased down the target even though their captain Yash Dhull didn’t contribute much. They chased down the target with 14 balls remaining. Nishant Sandhu made 50 off 54 alls while Shaikh Rasheed played a patient knock of 50 off 84 balls.
