Khattar slams Amarinder for his hypocrisy on farmers’ stir: ‘Stop Inciting’

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar slammed his Punjab counterpart, Captain Amarinder Singh in a scathing attack on farmers’ stir on Thursday.

Khattar urged Amarinder in his tweets that he should “stop inciting farmers”.

“@capt_amarinder ji, I’ve said it earlier and I’m saying it again, I’ll leave politics if there’ll be any trouble on the MSP – therefore, please stop inciting innocent farmers,” Khattar said.

In a series of tweets, he also urged the Punjab Chief Minister to avoid cheap politics.

“I’ve been trying to reach out to you for the last 3 days but sadly you decided to stay unreachable – is this how serious you are for farmer’s issues? You’re only tweeting and running away from talks, Why?” he wrote in another.

“Time for your Lies, Deception and Propaganda is over – let the people see your real face. Please stop putting the lives of people in danger during the Corona pandemic. I urge you to not play with the lives of the people – at least avoid cheap politics during the time of pandemic.” Khattar wrote.

Earlier Haryana had sealed its borders with Punjab to prevent farmers from entering the state for their “Delhi Chalo” march against the Centre’s farm laws. It had drawn a public condemnation from the Punjab chief minister.

Meanwhile “Dilli Chalo” march of farmers got ugly in Haryana. The protestors wreaked havoc as they tried to remove the barricades. Police, in response, lobbed tear-gas. The marchers, in turn, threw off the entire barricade off the bridge. Police used lathis but the protestors appeared to outnumber them.

Farmers’ unions had called for a Rail Roko Andolan on November 23 for 15 days even as they allowed all goods and passenger trains to resume its services.

The Dilli Chalo call would continue tomorrow. All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee, a body of more than 200 farmer organisations, has also given a call. Farm leader Ruldu Singh has claimed that “lakhs of farmers” would go to Delhi on tractors.
