Mahua Moitra makes vile comment on ‘sacred’ essence of Hinduism

Trinamool Congress MP, Mahua Moitra, fiery to her supporters but vile to any neutral observers for the language she could use, descended to a new level on Wednesday.

In a tweet, whose background would be shared with readers duly, Moitra abused Hindus/RSS/BJP—take your pick—when she called them “…Chotiwala Rakshas Clan.”

All this began when Mamata Banerjee, during a campaign on Tuesday, claimed that she belonged to “Shandilya” gotra—one of the eight highest Brahmin gotras.

“During my second campaign, I visited a temple where the priest enquired about my ‘gotra’. I told him ‘Maa Maati Manush’. This reminds me of my visit to Tripura’s Tripureshwari temple where the priest had asked me my ‘gotra’ and I told him too ‘Maa Mati Manush’, actually I am Shandilya,” Banerjee said.

It evoked a reaction from Union minister for fisheries, animal husbandry and dairying, Giriraj Singh who uses “Shandilya” ahead of his name in his twitter account. Singh said: “I never need to say it is my gotra. I write it. But she says it out of fear of losing the election. Mamata Banerjee, please tell me whether Rohingya and infiltrators are also of the Shandilya gotra…?”

Mahua Moitra, in reply, made the vile remark which appeared to drag high priest Hindus—who sport a braid at the back of their head—as “rakshas” or Devils.

The classical India believes human body has seven energy centres, or chakras, starting from one at the base of the spine (Mooladhara Chakra) to the seventh and last (Sahasrara Chakra) which means the thousand petalled lotus.

The kundalini is a snake like subtle energy lying coiled at the base chakra, which through yogic exercise can be made to uncoil and rise up through the chakras, finally reaching the one at the top, the Sahasrara.  The enlightened Master is one who has achieved the deepest realization of life, and his kundalini would have crossed the shikha, covering the part of the skull wherein lies the final chakra, and reached the Sahasrara Chakra.

Moitra’s tweet drew instant reaction from BJP MP, Locket Chatterjee who termed the remark as “new low even by TMC’s low standards.”

Meanwhile AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi responded to Mamata’s Shandliya claim.: “What should happen to people like me who aren’t Shandilya or Janeudhari (a reference to Rahul Gandhi), aren’t bhakts of certain gods, don’t recite Chalisa or any Path? Every party feels that it has to show its Hindu credentials to win.

The second phase of Bengal elections, for 30 seats, would go for polls on Thursday.
