New ministers take over their offices morning after taking oath





Next morning after they had taken oath as Union ministers, the new faces in the Modi cabinet took charge of their offices to hit the ground running, so to speak. 

Out of 43 new minisers, 15 are cabinet ministers while 28 are ministers of states. 

In all the strength of Modi’s cabinet, including the prime minister himself, has risen to 78. 

Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Rajya Sabha MP from Odisha, has been given charge of the two high-profile ministries -Railways and IT ministry. 

No sooner than he had assumed command, Vaishnaw fired a salvo at Twitter, saying the “the law of the land is supreme.”

In a video posted by ANI today, he was seen seated at his new office at Rail Bhawan (Indian Railways’ head office) in Delhi. 

He will also be heading the 126 ‘critical’ and ‘supercritical’ projects that are worth a combined ₹ 1,15,000 crore.

 Apart from Vaishnaw, Anurag Thakur who will be handling Youth Affairs and Sports and crucial Information and Broadcasting ministry was also seen at his new office. 

Meenakshi Lekhi who got promoted as Minister of State in the Ministry of External Affairs and the Culture Ministry also reached her new office. 

Among other major profiles,Mansukh Mandaviya was appointed as the Health Minister while Jyotiraditya Scindia was given the responsibility of Civil Aviation Minister.
