The Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who is staying in Ranthambore for her birthday, faced protest and slogans from people outside her hotel for her silence over the gangrape of a differently-abled minor girl in Alwar district, Rajasthan.
Bharatiya Janata PartyRajasthan unit also shared a video on their Twitter handle which showed how girls were seeking justice for the victim from Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
In the video, a girl is seen urging the Rajasthan police to allow them to meet Priyanka Gandhi however, she alleged that she was manhandled by police officers after she tried to meet Priyanka Gandhi to seek justice.
Vadra is leading the women empowerment campaign with ‘Ladki hun, lad sakti hun’ slogan in Uttar Pradesh but she has been selectively ignoring the brutal rape with minor in the state where Congress is in power.
Exposing the hypocrisy of the Congress, BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra targeted Priyanka Gandhi and said for Congress, women empowerment is only limited to Uttar Pradesh.
Asking why Congress leaders did not go to meet the victim who is in a hospital, Patra asserted, “This selective politics of yours does not suit.”
“A 15-16-year-old Divyang girl has been abused in Alwar, Rajasthan. A car leaves the girl covered in blood on the road. Today that daughter is fighting for her life in the ICU. When this incident was happening in Alwar, Priyanka Vadra was celebrating her birthday in Ranthambore. Today the question arises that did you go to meet the daughter of Rajasthan Nirbhaya? You and Rahul ji go to meet you wherever there is injustice in the whole country. You also make the picture viral by hugging,” he added while addressing the press conference.
