Shastri asks blistering Suryakumar Yadav to stay ‘strong and patient’

Indian coach Ravi Shastri has asked Mumbai Indian’s Suryakumar Yadav to stay “strong and patient” in a tweet.

After Yadav missed the bus for tour to Australia and had seniors like Harbhajan Singh slamming the selector for his omission, Shastri’s words of advice would further act as a balm to the youngster. What’s more, it would help him not to get dis-spirited and unmotivated. A youngster, hopefully, woudn’t be lost to Indian cricket.

Meanwhile, former India cricket Manoj Tiwari in a tweet has hoped that Shastri was his coach when his cricketing career went into oblivion due to neglect of powers-that-be.

Yadav hit a blistering 79 off 43 balls last night against Royal Challengers Bangalore which has virtually sealed Mumbai Indians a berth in the playoff of the Indian Premier League, presently on in UAE. It was a sumptuous knock which drew praise from everyone for almost 360 degree shot-making that Yadav produced.

Among others, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar too found Yadav’s knock as “fantastic”. New Zealand’s Scott Styris came an affirmation on Yadav’s talent by asking him to move overseas (read New Zealand) if he wanted to play international cricket.

Even Tom Moody has found Yadav’s omission from the tour to Australia “hard to understand.”
