Shastri deserves credit for India’s fightback, says Vaughan

Former England skipper Michael Vaughan, lampooned for predicting a 4-0 whitewash of India against Australia in the ongoing series, has now said India’s fightback has a lot to do with how coach Ravi Shastri has managed this team.

Vaughan tweeted: “Really enjoy the way @RaviShastriOfc manages this Indian team…He deserves a lot of credit for making them believe they could compete once @imKohli had gone home…!! #AusvIndia.”

India has shown a never-say-die attitude in the series which is straight from the textbook of doughty Shastri who during his 80-Test career took 151 wickets and scored 3830 runs with 11 centuries at an average of 35.79.

As the final day of the gripping final Test in Gabba, Brisbane commences on Tuesday, the scoreline stands at 1-1 draw after three Tests.

India, chasing 328 for win, are 4 for no loss with an intriguing final day ahead.
