Shinde to meet Maharashtra governor soon; tie up with BJP on cards

Rebel leader Eknath Shinde will meet Maharashtra governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari today, it has been claimed by an MLA in former’s camp Sada Sarvankar on Republic TV.

Meanwhile the Channel has claimed that Shinde might fly to Delhi today. As former Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis has also left for the national capital, they might meet each other amid speculation that they are coming together for government formation.

Sarvankar also asserted that the rebels will join hands with BJP for the formation of a new government in Maharashtra.

Independent MLAs are likely to meet Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari soon. They are set to request a floor test in the state Assembly in the wake of the Eknath Shinde camp withdrawing its support to MVA.

Deepak Kesarkar, the spokesperson of the Shinde camp, said, “As soon as the Assembly session is conveyed we’ll move to Mumbai. It doesn’t matter if the hotel booking is extended.”

In an indication that a floor test is on the cards, BJP has asked all its MLAs to not leave Maharashtra. As per sources, all MLAs have been asked to be near Mumbai.

Taking a dig at Shiv Sena’s plight, BJP MLA Ram Kadam commented, “Those who rejected Hanuman Chalisa, their own 40 MLAs rejected them. Is this called divine justice?”

Smita Prakash, Editor News, ANI who was also one of the participants in the debate then asked, “Will your camp accept a BJP CM?’ Replying to the same, Kesarkar said, ” We have left all the decisions on Eknath Shinde. If he wants to claim the Chief Ministership he may, if he wants to give it up, he may…That’s entirely his choice.”

Taking a swipe at BJP, Maharashtra Congress president Nana Patole said, “It is learned that 126 people have lost their lives in the floods in Assam so far. Still, the BJP has nothing to do with it. In Maharashtra, the BJP ignored 126 persons in Assam to reach the target of 144 (MLAs) in Maharashtra.”

After meeting Maharashtra CM and Shiv Sena supremo Uddhav Thackeray at Matoshree, Congress’ Nana Patole said, “We are not in minority, our government will run for 5 years. MLAs have been forcibly stopped, and given injections. We have also heard that 50-50 crore rupees have also been given.”
