Amid the surge in coronavirus cases in Maharashtra, a shocking video has surfaced in which it can be seen that the body of a few deceased has been wrapped in garbage bags.
Lashing out at the Maharashtra government for their ignorance, BJP leader Kirit Somaiya shared a video on Twitter on Monday, showing four corpses of covid patients being brought from the Saket Global Hospital for final rites wrapped in bedsheets and plastic trash bags at a crematorium in Thane.
Questioning the government, Somaiya tweeted. “Now Thackeray Sarkar using Plastic/Kachara Bags to Pack #COVID Dead body.”

The sources also informed that “There could possibly be a shortage of body bags as the volume of deaths has risen in the last few days, forcing the staff to use bedsheets to wrap the bodies.”
Another shocking incident happened a few days back when eight covid victims were cremated on one pyre by municipal officials in the Beed district due to a lack of space in a makeshift crematorium.
The state has been recording more than 50,000 cases since the last month. On Monday, the state registered 51,751 covid-19 infections and 258 related fatalities.
