Supriyo takes a dig: Alipur Jail will be be TMC’s new office

Bhartiya Janata Party leader Babul Supriyo took a dig on Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the party-head Mamata Banerjee while addressing a rally in Mahishadal. Supriyo in his attack said after the 2021 elections, Alipur jail will be the TMC office.

His statement comes days after when the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raided several places owned by TMC youth leader Vinay Mishra in his connection to illegal coal and cattle smuggling case. He has also alleged that Mishra was just running the scams on behalf of Mamata’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee.

The singer-turned-politician draws a comparison between the colours of Alipur Jail and TMC’s color- blue and white and said as Mamata has painted major parts of the state in party’s colour, Alipur jail is also painted with the same colours and it is good as after elections everyone from the party will be inside it.

“TMC is a bad company. A storm is approaching that will blow TMC completely. I urge all who joined us from TMC to work hard together as a family,” he said.

The West Bengal assembly with 294 seats is likely to go for polls around April-May 2021.
