Suresh Raina has indicated he could return to the United Arab Emirates to be a part of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The star Chennai Super Kings batsman had earlier pulled out of the tournament for reasons unknown.
But since then Suresh Raina has clarified that he was upset with killings of his uncle and other members of his family in Pathankot. He spoke to Cricbuzz and cleared the air, including his reaction to supposed rift between him and his captain and mentor, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, as well as CSK owner N. Srinivasan.
“It was a personal decision and I had to come back for my family. There was something that needed to be addressed immediately on the home front. CSK is my family too and Mahi bhai is very important to me and this was a tough decision. There is no issue between CSK and me.
“I I have been training even while quarantining here. You never know you might see me in the camp there again.”
He also said that Srinivasan is like a father figure to him and his comments were taken out of context.
