A temple priest Kirpal Singh, popularly referred to as ‘Baba Sadhu’, was murdered in village Nagla Jagroop under Kotwali Dehat police station in Etah district of Uttar Pradesh on the intervening night of October 8 and 9.

In this murder case, a person named Razzaq has been arrested by the police. They have also recovered the axe he used to hack the priest to death.

The villagers came to know about the incident on Saturday when they saw the priest’s body in the temple premises. The deceased priest Kripal Singh was a resident of Garhi taluka of Etah, who had come to the temple a month ago for worship.

Preliminary investigation by the police revealed that both accused Razzak and priest Kirpal shared a cordial bond and were often seen together. However, there was some mutual dispute between the two due to which Razzaq killed the priest Kripal Singh.
