Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait again become a matter of embarrassment after “Go Back Rakesh Tikait ” slogans were raised by the public outside the residence of late Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat.
As Tikait approached the CDS’ home to pay his homage, people gathered around and shouted “Go Back Rakesh Tikait’, people also chanted ‘Rakesh Tikait Murdabad’, ‘Desh Drohi(Traitor) Rakesh Tikait’ as a protest.
The nation on Friday bid farewell to CDS Rawat as he was laid to rest with full military honours at Brar Square crematorium in Delhi cantonment. As per protocol, General Rawat was accorded a 17-gun salute at his funeral where 800 service personnel were in attendance. His daughters Kritika and Tarini performed Rawat and his wife Madhulika’s last rites.
