The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras. The CCTV footage showed the man arrived on bike and poured petrol on the vehicle and lit the match. He later fled the spot. Police said they have arrested the accused labour. Cops said further investigation is underway in the case. The accused labourer has been identified as Ranveer. He was arrested after a complaint was filed by the Mercedes owner, report in India TV said.

Netizens have given mixed reaction about the incident. While some chastised the owner of the Mercedes for exploiting the poor labourer and not clearing his dues, others slammed the labourer for taking the law into his own hands and committing a crime.
