We won’t allow Hindu weddings without permission, says AIMIM leader in Aligarh

Sowing seeds of communal discontent in Aligarh’s Noorpur, the AIMIM leader, Syed Nazim Ali gives an open threat Says “we will offer Namaz but will not allow Hindu weddings without permission.”

“Namaz will take place. And yes, we will not let you (Hindus) take out wedding processions without permission. If you carry out wedding processions without permission, we will not let you do it. Do whatever you want, Bring as many bricks, stones or bullets as you can. we will not let you do it,” he said.

Last month, on May 26, two wedding processions were en-route to a Hindu’s home in a lane opposite a mosque on Thursday, when it were attacked. Since the congregation coincided with the afternoon prayers in mosque, residents asked the family to halt music by DJ until the prayers were over.

Earlier, Nurpur was a Hindu majority village in Aligarh but due to the increasing atrocities and threats of persecution at the hands of hooligans from the Muslim majority, many Hindus left the village. Currently, according to reports, about 800 Muslim families live in the village. There are 125 families of Hindus, the majority of whom belong to the Jatav community ( scheduled caste).

These Dalit Hindu families are also leaving the place as last month, a journalist, Keshav Malan, uploaded a video which stated that Hindus have put a message on their house of being on sale.

Taking proactive action against them, the Yogi Adityanath administration had filed a complaint against 11 criminals who were on the run. Shiv Pratap Singh, CO, Khair said that an FIR has been filed accusing some members of the Muslim community for alleged assault and using casteist slurs.
