Vladimir Putin said in his address to the Federal Assembly the West can live the way it wants, but in the scriptures and books of world religions everything is said, including about the family, that a family is the union of a man and a woman.
“Look at what they are doing with their own peoples – destruction of the family, cultural and national identity. Perversions, child abuse, even pedophilia, are declared the norm, the norm of their life. And clergy, priests are forced to bless same-sex marriages,” Putin said.
“Priests are forced to bless same-sex marriages. Yes, God bless them, let them do what they want. What I want to say here is that adults have the right to live as they want, we have treated this matter in Russia and will always treat as ‘no one interferes in private life’ and we are not going to do it. But I want to tell them, look at the Holy Scriptures, the main books of all other world religions, everything is said there, including that the family is the union of a man and a woman. But even these sacred texts are now being questioned,” the president said.
He spoke about the plans of the Church of England to consider the idea of introducing gender-neutral pronouns for God, saying that they do not know what they’re doing.
