“Where was Shiv Sena in Ram Janmabhoomi campaign?…Challenge them if Sonia , Rahul could tweet on Balasaheb”

Ex Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis

Former Maharashtra Chief Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Devendra Fadnavis slammed the Shiv Sena stating that Shiv Sena’s Hindutva is merely on paper and doesn’t go beyond speeches.

He said that Shiv Sena was not even born when BJP had its members in the Mumbai civic body. He said, “Shiv Sena has selective memory. The Shiv Sena was not even born when BJP had its members in the Mumbai civic body. In the 1984 election, their party candidate contested on a BJP ticket.”

Fadnavis’ statement came after Maharashtra Chief Minister and Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray accused the BJP of using the Hindutva ideology for the sake of power.

Fadnavis mentioned that Sena’s ministers were frustrated by his party finishing fourth in recent Nagar Panchayat or local body polls and was taking it out on the BJP. This is proven by his comments.

“Where were you in the Ram Janmabhoomi campaign? We took the bullets and the lathis. Today the Ram temple is being built at Ayodhya under the leadership of PM Modi,” Mr Fadnavis said.

Taking a dig at Sena’s alliance with the Congress and said: “I challenge them (Shiv Sena) to just get a post tweeted for Balasaheb Thackeray, from Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi with whom they are sitting.”

Union minister Raosaheb Patil Danve also targeted Uddhav’s party and said “Shiv Sena cited Savarakar during campaign speeches in Dombivali. Is this a Hindutva party? Today Uddhav Thackery is behaving the exact opposite of what Bala Saheb preached. He has joined anti-Hindutva parties in greed of power.”
