Covid-19 vaccine: First ones to get so would be a crore of health workers





One crore health workers, both from public and private sectors, will be the first to get vaccine for immunity against Covid-19. Then it will be the turn of two crore frontline workers, including police, armed forces personnel and municipal workers to get the shot. A presentation regarding this was given by Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan at a meeting presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Floor leaders from all parties in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha had been invited to attend the virtual meeting. At least 13 leaders from various parties having more than five MPs spoke at the meeting. Former Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, Sudip Bandopadhyay from TMC, Sharad Pawar of the NCP, NN Rao from the TRS and Vinayak Raut from the Shiv Sena were among those who spoke on the occasion.
