Russian scientists have discovered a 39,000-year-old perfectly preserved cave bear and cub in Siberia.
According to reports, archaeologists in Russia have discovered two perfectly preserved bears- a mother and a cub – inside a wall of ice in two separate digs. The scientists have described the find as of the ‘world importance’.
Until this discovery, the only evidence of cave bears that scientists had were the bones, but as per the reports, these are so well preserved that they have even got fur and the mother bear also has teeth. The frozen bodies were first discovered by reindeer herders.
Cave bears were prehistoric species or sub-species that lived on the Eurasian continent between 3,00,000 and 15,000 years ago.
The scientists have also made a plan to attempt to bring the mammoth back to life and are hopeful that they’ll be able to find some DNA of this Ice Age beast.
