Congress is still in a ‘coma’; should worry about their slide: Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hit out at Congress and said that they are still in a “coma” and has not been able to digest the saffron party’s rise to power.

“Congress still has a sense of entitlement that it has ruled the country for 60 years and it is because of this that they haven’t been able to digest the fact that people have chosen us. As an opposition, they should take up issues of people’s welfare strongly which they aren’t doing,” the Prime Minister was quoted as saying.

Addressing a weekly meeting of BJP workers, PM Modi also blasted Congress, over their attitude amid the ongoing pandemic and to their aim to disrupt the proceedings of the Parliament over important issues. PM Modi accused the Congress for creating a negative atmosphere in India. He reportedly added that the behaviour of the Opposition was rather “irresponsible and unfortunate.”

“The Congress thinks it is entitled to power. It does not care about its sliding mandate. It is declining everywhere but still it is more concerned about us than itself.”

Congress has recently fared very badly in assembly polls in Bengal, Assam and Kerala.

Briefing about the BJP’s parliamentary meeting, PM Modi urged all the MPs  to take the truth and facts about the government’s work before the people so that the opposition’s lies won’t fill the vacuum created by lack of communication or truth.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi informed the media that PM Modi said the Covid crisis was not a political but a humanitarian issue and the government had ensured no one was hungry during the pandemic.

He said PM Modi told the MPs that the government was willing to hold discussions in both Houses of Parliament, but the opposition was showing a most irresponsible behaviour.

He also informed that PM asked MPs to stay prepare and ready to put boots on the ground to anticipate the third wave of Covid pandemic.
