BJP MP tweets Amit Shah tests Corona negative; BJP says wait for official word

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has tested negative for Covid-19, his party colleague Manoj Tiwari announced on twitter today.

However, Tiwari later deleted his tweet and BJP IT head, Amit Malviya clarified that the “nothing other than the official health bulletin released either by the treating hospital, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) or his (Shah’s) own twitter feed should be referred to.”

Shah was admitted to Gurugram’s Medanta Hospital after testing positive on August 2.

At the time of being admitted in the hospital, the 55-year-old leader had said that he was swabbed for the novel virus and it showed early symptoms

“My health is fine, but am being admitted to hospital on the advice of the doctors. Requests all those who came in contact with me these last few days to self-isolate and get themselves tested,” Shah had said.

Thereafter extensive contact tracing was done on anyone who had come in contact with the home minister.

Shah, who is a diabetic, had taken part in a cabinet meeting last Wednesday. It was attended by all top ministers, including prime minister Narendra Modi, defence minister Rajnath Singh and finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
