China has amassed 60,000 troops along the LAC, says Mike Pompeo

The United States Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, on Friday warned India that China had deployed more than 60,000 troops along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). Mike Pompeo calls out Beijing for its “bad behaviour” and the threats it poses to the Quad countries.

Pompeo added, “The Indians…are actually having a physical confrontation with the Chinese up in the Himalayas.” He made the statement in the interview on Friday at The Guy Benson Show after meeting his counterparts from India, Japan, and Australia at the Quad ministerial meeting in Tokyo.

Pompeo also met India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar in Tokyo and stressed the need to work together to advance peace, prosperity, and security in the Indo-Pacific and around the globe.

While responding to another interview with Larry O’Connor, Mr. Pompeo mentioned how the relationship among all the members has gained a new understanding and they began to develop a new set of policies that can jointly help these countries.

“They absolutely need the United States to be their ally and partner in this fight,” he said.

Adding how China has become a threat to the entire world, he said,

“…whether it’s the Indians, who are having a physical confrontation with the Chinese up in the Himalayas in the north-eastern part of India, the Chinese have now begun to amass huge forces against India in the north whether it’s the Australians who did the simple thing of saying the Chinese screwed this deal up with the virus, and we’d like to understand what happened and said we ought to have a full investigation, and in exchange for that, the Chinese Communist Party began to extort, coerce, bully the Australians,”

In an interview with Fox News, he talked about how under the leadership of Donald Trump they are trying to protect the American people from the threats of the Chinese Communist Party.

“Look, they’ve stacked 60,000 soldiers against the Indians in the north. When the Australians had the temerity to ask for an investigation of the Wuhan virus and where it began, something that we know a lot about, the Chinese Communist Party threatened them. They bullied them,” He told Fox News.

India is amplifying its bilateral cooperation with Japan, the US, and Australia, and to limit the growth of China in the region, it can be also seen how the United States has been pushing a greater role for India.
